Promotional Workhorses

I'm back...sort of. I am semi functional as long as I don't stare at a computer screen for too long. I can't wait until I can see like a normal person again. There is so much to tell you!

And what is my life without a funny story about my surgical procedure? I'll wait until my eyes are a little more reliable to tell you. It's really pretty funny in a horror-movie kind of way. (You knew I had a weird sense of humor, right?) In the meantime, I'll post some pre-written articles.

For today, I promised you a list of promotional venues. We'll take each one (or two) week by week every Friday. Depending on how I feel next Friday, we might have to delay the first one until the following week. The only reason I'm posting right now is because I am relying on my "non fixed" eye to take the full workload. Who knows how I'll be next week. Next Monday is my next surgery.

On to promotional venues. Which ones are for you? Which ones have you tried?

Glad to "see" you're back!

When I tell people about my eye surgeries, they tend to pass out - so I'll just wait for yours.

Great idea for a blog series!

I was on MySpace for one week when I was contacted by a start up webzine who was looking for some "dark" content. Since I had a "dark" profile, and creepy background working at the morgue, cooking corpses, I got his attention.

This led to a published story, which led to another published story in the darkest-of-the-dark pulp fiction print mags.

Right now I have another story I've submitted to yet another noir 'zine - all this started because of MySpace.

Maria, I gave your interview with LaGringa a plug last week.

Hey, I'm glad you're back and everything went well!

I've tried a lot of these, with mixed results, but at least it gets your name out there:
Website, Blog, Social Networking, Group Blogs, Linking, business cards, reviews, interviews and Myspace and Facebook

Josie: I think your eye surgeries were far scarier. My only gripe is that I was hoping to see better than I am right now. Patience is not a virtue of mine.

Thanks for the interview mention! I am answering a few emails a day, but I have to limit my blog reading for now. I still have you on my reader, so I won't miss it.

What a great way to get a gig, which reminds me of something to add to the list. Off to that now.
Thanks!

Hi JK,
What I hope to do is disseminate each vehicle and see what makes it work--or not work.

A lot depends on what we put into it too. Websites, for example have a huge range. Hopefully, I'll be able to cover that next week if I can see well enough.

PS Thanks for the welcome back!

Welcome back!

Looking forward to your promo series... will try to mention it on my blog, as I'm certain lots of folks will be interested.

Have a great day :-)

Thanks Marianne! I'm hoping to learn as I go along too. I find when I break things down to their base components it gives me a better grasp on why it does or doesn't work for me.
