Just Ducky

Here's a better picture of the duck sprinkler I got for my birthday. (Feather in front did not come from said duck.)

I have a small garden area in front of the house for flowers and herbs, and this will fit in perfectly.

I have to admit, I love practical gifts. All the better if they are useful and quirky. It appeals to my weird sense of artsy propriety.

What kind of gifts do you like to receive?

Practical?

Useless but fun?
Quirky?

Expensive?

Is there anything special you'd like someone to give you this year?

We'll make this a karmic blog post. You name it, and we'll see if karma will deliver.

I love practical gifts that I can use. I also like thoughtful gifts which tells me that the giver really knows me.

I'm always on the lookout for quilting-related items that I want but haven't bought because I don't need them.

On that note, is there something special that you want this year?

LOVE the duck sprinkler! Seriously its awesome!

I love quirky gifts, or things that speak to me and who I am. Lucky for my family, there are a million different type of dachshund products and gadgets out there, so they can always find me something weird I love :)

I love gifts that show the other person has really thought about me. Even if the gift itself is not really what I would have liked, if I can see the other person has thought hard about it, I'll love it.

(My other gets me strange presents everytime she buys something for me. Things I'd never have bought myself, but I can understand how she misunderstood me every single time, and I love the gifts because of this.)

I just love that sprinkler, and any gardening gift ... stepping stones, tools, decorative pots for the deck. They dress up our little corner of the world.

Dru: I have everything I want except for one thing.

I wish my husband and I lived together. He's the perfect gift, practical AND quirky.

Someday we'll be together again and then we can start a new phase in our lives.

Diandra: My hubby does that. He buys me things I never think to buy myself. And I agree with you. When it's from someone who cares about you, it's always a much-loved gift.

Jannette: Any way your husband can call my husband? LOL.

That's a great gift!

Joanne: I adore stuff for the garden. I don't care much for those shiny balls or garden trolls, but I do love beautiful pots and details in the landscaping.

You and I ought to go shopping someday!

Megan: Dachshunds!!!

One of my best friends has dachshunds and I am always on the prowl for dachshund items when I go antiquing.

I'm always looking for dog statues and pottery anyway, since I collect doggy stuff, but for her, I specifically look for wiener dogs.

Dru, I seem to be backtracking. My internet connection is wonky today. I respond to comments and then my server goes down.

Trying again.

Ahh...but then you'll want them and not have them. LOL.

Buy them. You'll use them. You work so fast anyway. I wish I could write as fast as you quilt. :o)
I don't want anything, but heliduck made me laugh.

I'm all over practical, quirky, unusual, and thoughtful gifts. I love giving people gifts you can't find just anywhere while keeping in mind said individual's tastes, needs, and unique personality.
