Networking Savants

I've been so proud of the way some of you have gone around and really used this contest in the spirit it was intended. So often people just enter for the prizes.

Yes. I've been noticing who's visiting who. Good karma to all of you who are checking out the other blogs.

Today, I'm going to concentrate on the writer blogs. There are several so if you call yours a writer blog and it doesn't show today, it'll come up later in the week.

I visit a lot of writer blogs, so I was glad to see some new-to-me ones. I hope you'll add some of these to your list.

Kait Nolan, Shadow and Fang

I talk about writing, life, books I love, and my journey toward the dream of writing for a living.

***

Sandra Ulbrich Almazan: Speculative Fiction Author

Reflections on science fiction/fantasy writing (from the science to the writing)and daily life.

***

Marian Perera, Flights Of Fantasy

I like to talk about anything fantasy- and writing- and publishing-related.

***

Barbara Ann Wright

I rant about writing and publishing in between managing my massive pen collection and not cleaning my house. When I succeed at writing, I squee all over my blog like a twelve-year-old fangirl. When I'm not succeeding, I lean on my readers and hope they solve my problems for me. Personal responsibility is for suckers.

***

Renee Miller, Dangling on the Edge of (In)Sanity

Wading through this sludgy mire we call writing and publishing, and sometimes even making sense of it. Canadian writer Renee Miller blogs about writing, publishing and books, offering tips and her own experience climbing the slippery slope to becoming an published author.

Homestead Update: We tested the irrigation system and it WORKS!! Score one for Greg. I am keeping him.

My chickens are growing up and the roosters are chasing my poor hens relentlessly. There's a whole blog post on this in the future. Sex in the hen house. The ugly truth.

We are having a party this Saturday in honor of Greg's birthday. His birthday was the 6th, but some friends are coming up to help us celebrate on the 10th. He deserves it. He's worked very hard.

I worked hard too. But mules don't get parties. It's in the rulebook. Greg even showed it to me. Though I did wonder why it was scribbled in pencil. :o)

Well, I hope you are finding some new blogs to visit. I've really enjoyed this contest. Lots of neat, new people.

Has the Shout-Out contest introduced you to some new blogs to add to your reading list?

Yes, I've visited several new blogs yesterday and followed them and will see how it goes.

Absolutely! I've always liked to blog surf (randomly push 'next blog' on blogger sites), but the block party gave me some specific places to start and I like the blurb.

I've signed up for some great follows and gotten some myself (waves to Dru).

Thanks Maria and I know I will enjoy today's catch!

Also, thank you for your vote in the Erma's contest. I won because of the social network I've built in the last few months and will do my best to show everyone their trust was well-placed.

You hit the nail on the head.

Now that my Internet is back in working order, thank you very much my Wi-Fi Router for biting the dust, maybe I can find more than the 4 or 5 brave souls who have found me!!!

Maria good to know the irrigation system is working and you are going to now keep Greg! If it did not work would you have still kept the poor guy? LOL

Thanks Terri, Dru, and the rest for following and I am trying to follow back when my Road Runner cooperates!

Thanks for the shout-out, Maria. :) I enjoyed reading about Kait Nolan's experiences in self-publishing via Kindle and plan to browse through a couple more blogs tonight.

LOL. Oh, I suppose so. I've kinda gotten used to him. It's too time consuming to break in anyone new.

In all seriousness though, he is pretty awesome. When I was a kid I was fascinated by people who were very mechanical. (Me, of the non-mechanical genes.)

It was no coincidence that I married a Renaissance man. He can do anything--and do it well.

I've been intrigued with Kait's journal on self publishing. She got a spot on my reader right from the start.

Maria, I have grown up around men like that. They were my Uncles unfortunately for my poor unmechanical Dad!
My own sweetheart is very mechanically minded, but having the time to work on anything is the kicker for him. He works such long days that what time off he has is spent sleeping and relaxing any more. In his 20's and 30's he was a dynamo of energy and creativity, now at 50 he is tired out!!

Oh, sister, I know what you mean! We're both in our 50s and that kind of work takes a toll on you, that's for sure.

I only get Greg a couple of times a month since he still lives 300 miles away from me. So we have to cram all our projects in the few days he spends with me.

Soon, I hope he'll retire. He's earned it.

PS Your honey sounds like a keeper too.

My honey bunny boy is indubitably the! best kind of keeper! We have been through so many years of ups and downs and in betweens together that he really is my "other half". We do not resemble one another in many ones but at the core our values are exactly the same. Ain't it nice to be able to brag about, instead of whine about, the old man!!

Oh, BTW blogger is still PMS'ing. Some others besides you and myself have been having problems all week long!
