The Chicken Apocalypse and My New Ride

On Facebook, I had mentioned that Greg offered to buy me a Mule (the 4-wheeled kind, not the 4-legged one) to help me lug stuff around the homestead. I asked for a 25-year-old hard body, but Greg declined. :sigh:

We kept window shopping, but nothing appealed to me in my price range. Then Greg suggested a golf cart with a dump bed in the back. A lightbulb went over my head!

I don't know the first thing about golf carts, but I know they're quiet (a big plus for me) and I don't have to worry about combustion engines or Greg stealing borrowing it to ride with his buddies. All I need is something to lug hay or 50 lb sacks of feed or soil from one end of the property to the other.

Over the weekend, he bought me this.

I wasn't sure I'd like it, but in fact I LOVE it! It's quite zippy and oh-so quiet. It has no trouble at all lugging my stuff. I even got Tank to go riding with me. I'll post a picture the next time Greg is in town and he can take a picture of me and my boy taking in the sights.

And I see sunshine. Oh...

That is so cool. So it's not a mule? What is it?

That looks like a fun ride. I see alot of these at the beach, people use them to haul their gear from the cottages to the sand. Happy Trails ...

Sarita: It is a lot of fun!

Dru: It's just a golf cart with a dump bed installed instead of those golf bag carriers.

Joanne: I can see using them on the beach. They are so versatile.

Sorry you didn't get your 25 year old but I guess this is a decent 2nd :)

Of course, now you have no excuses for not getting things done.

Driving a golfcart may be the only thing I miss since kicking the golf habit ...

Mel: Greg did good. I forgive him his other sins. LOL.

Angela: I thought it would be too light-duty, but it's cute and tough.

Raelyn: Oh, come on. It's a poor second. LOL. But it's the best I'll get. :)

David: I had no idea how much fun they were. I'm hooked. Sometimes I just ride around for the heck of it.

sigh. i wish i lived on a farm SO BAD! Everytime i see a mule for sale, all i can think about is, how, if i lived on a farm, i'd have an excuse to save my money and buy one for hauling stuff

I love driving golf carts, and that's a good idea for you. I've seen several of them drive by my place from the campground.

I love it. Will you take me for a ride? Do I get to sit up front?
Maria Zannini said…
Sarah: Go for it, Sarah. You're still young.

Darke: I was surprised how sturdy they were.

Linda: Come aboard. You might have to push Tank aside though. :)

I love it. It is a mule! I'm with you about it being quiet. Won't interrupt your communing with nature as you drive around.

I've always wanted one of those, but since I don't have feed to haul around, alas, I have none. Congrats to you, tho.

zombie chicken apocalypse and holding out till that picture of Tank and Iko are riding along with you and your new "sports car"!

You need one with Iko in the driver's seat and Tank in the passenger hauling you in the back bin Maria! LOL

How cool. I can see it will be very useful for you. Our local council has something similar to collect the rubbish bags from the trash bins along our local walkways. I often see it zipping around while we're walking Bella.
Oh cool, can I have a ride. tee hee. Looks so great. I can picture you at the wheel... go girl. :)

L'Aussie: I am not fond of noisy, belching beasts.

Barbara: Even if it's just to zip from one end to the other, it's been useful.

Charlie: Definitely faster than the walking dead.

Shelley: I always thought they were just for golf. It never occurred to me to use them elsewhere.

Suzanne: You come on over. I'll even let you drive.
