Shh...Don't Wake Her

I wasn't planning on this, but I need to take a couple of days to recuperate from the weekend. I'll be back Wednesday.

After a weekend of burning brush, weeding, canning and scorpion hunting, I'm bushed.

If something cool happened in your life over the weekend (unlike moi), feel free to comment. In the meantime, I'll go visit your blogs.

My weekend was tame, compared to burning brush and scorpion hunting. I staked tomato plants ...

I thought about sleeping in too. I had a busy weekend. Enjoy...

My weekend was a tad stressful, but not because of anything cool I did. More just because I'm a worrier and I'm getting closer to the end of my WIP.

Yeah, I know, time to celebrate, right? But writing the last third always gives me major heartburn.

eww on the scorpions. No thanks. I'm so glad we don't really have any venemous animals in MN

You can scorpions? No wonder Texans are mean.

Joanne: Right now, I'd gladly take tame. :)

Angela: Celebrate woman! It's a big deal to get to the end of wip. It always feels like a great weight lifted off me.

Sarah: The scorpions have been bad this year. I am sick of seeing them everywhere. And I suspect they might have been responsible for the deaths of two of my youngest chicks. I hate them with a vengeance.

Mike: Texans are not mean. Where do you get such fallacies? :)

Besides I wouldn't waste a can on a scorpion. The bottom of my shoe is enough. I like to leave an impression.

Enjoy your break! It'll be my first weekend after school lets out. The boys will no doubt be on summer highs.

Let's see. Interesting stuff? I got a tetanus shot today. Shots are about as scary to me as scorpion stings. Although I did take care of a 'pet' scorpion in highschool. She had little white babies that crawled onto her back and stayed there...piggybacking. There you go, a sweet, maternal view of a scorpion, LOL.

Yes something cool happened, my husband and I managed to survive Dallas traffic and we had a blast in Allen tooling around at all the different stores while I was waiting for the Boas and Tiaras event and afterwards we explored more of our surroundings before coming home Sunday and crashing!

Take care Maria, recuperated from all that work out in the heat!

See you on Wednesday!

You have to tell us how you hunt scorpions. I have a busy weekend planned for the next one.

Rula: I need a tetanus shot. We've been stringing barbed wire and I got a couple of good gouges. :sigh: Can my life get anymore glamorous.

PS Trust me. You do NOT want to get stung by a scorpion. Those pricks hurt for two solid days.

Jackie: Any day you can survive Dallas traffic is a day to celebrate. I hated driving it everyday. Madness!

Susan: We use Iko some of the time. When he's too lazy, we take out our ultraviolet flashlight. Scorpions glow in the dark in ultraviolet. Makes them easy to find.

My weekend was restful.

I didn't know scorpions glowed under ultraviolet. Learn something everyday.

Taking a break sounds like a great plan. In fact, I'd say you'd earned it :)

Scorpion hunting? Sounds wild!

Maria Zannini said...

Jenny, Libby: Every night we hunt for scorpions--especially when it's hot and dry. I don't want another surprise in bed.

My weekend was so exciting that I've forgotten what I did. :)

Shirley: That happens to me way too often.
