Money For The Kitty

I normally don't blog here today, but I'm making an exception for a very special post. I need money. Not for myself or even for one of my furry kids, but for a cat who is in dire need of an expensive surgery.

I made two donations to Miss Mousie, one monetary and one story. Pop over to Miss Mousie's blog and read how I acquired The World's Ugliest Dog, the Chronicles of Kitty. It tells the story on how we were adopted by our one and only cat.

If you're an animal lover and can spare a couple of bucks, Miss Mousie could sure use your help. Pop over, read her story (and mine) and leave a donation if you can.

Other things you can do to help: Link to my story, tweet Miss Mousie's post, or share her plight with your friends. Let's give this poor kitty the chance she deserves.

Do you have a cat story? Contact Melissa on Miss Mousie's blog and get featured too.

I also have a post up on Back to Basics about the risks of BPA in plastics. If you use plastic food storage containers, you'll want to read this.

If you read my post on Miss Mousie's blog, you might think I took a big risk with that kitten. Would you have tried it?

Thanks so much for your support of Miss Mousie!

I enjoyed reading about Kitty! I must admit I was a little worried about your intro of her to the dogs. I would have been shaking in my boots and hovering which would have ruined everything. Good for you knowing your animals so well that it worked perfectly! Kitty is a lucky feline to have found you!

Melissa: Glad to do it. I hope Miss Mousie gets her operation.

Ref: Kitty
I knew Czarina, and I had a good feeling about Kitty. Kitty was a great judge of character even when he was a baby.

Poor Miss Mousie! Hope she's back on her paws soon.
We've mostly had both cats and dogs, and they've always gotten along well. Mostly because the cats tend to act more like dogs after awhile, lol

Cate: That was the case in my household too. Kitty loved his dog siblings. If it weren't for the fact he meowed, you'd almost think he was a dog too.

On my way over! We don't have a cat (family allergies) but pretty much not a day goes by where i don't wish we could have one

I think we should rename you "pet whisperer." You know your animals well and handle them according to their individual needs and quirks. I don't know if I could have done what you did with Kitty. Then again, if I were the "pet whisperer" and understood my pet as well, then yeah, I'd take the chance you took.

Sarah: I miss having a cat. We wouldn't mind having one now but Iko is a bit rambunctious. It would have to be one tough cat.

Angela: I do have a sixth sense about animals. But it's mostly due to being observant.

I'm heading over now, Maria. Thanks for bringing this to people's attention.

Breaks my heart to hear about an animal in need... BIG softy for our furry friends. I'll check it out Maria.

Nice of you to help out another kitty in need. But then, I'm certainly not surprised.

Jim: I don't know how much good I did, but I did what I could.

EJ: I'm hoping at the very least we can spread the word. Even a couple of bucks will help.

Linda: I've had to put two dogs through chemo, so I know expensive procedures.

The ablation is horribly expensive, but it gets such good results. That poor kitty might have to be put to sleep if they can't get her ears fixed. I had to do what I could.

I'm not a cat person per se, but I do love animals. How great of you to support Miss Mousie. The poor kitty needs as much help as she can get.
Maria Zannini said…
Isis: I didn't know I was a cat person either until I got one. :)

I'm always willing to lend a paw for a good cause.

I have taken risks by rescuing kittens. It hasn't always been worth it but I'm glad I've tried.

I've tweeted this, Maria. Can't say no to a Kitty!

Clarissa: Sounds like there's a story behind that comment. :)

Ellie: Thank you, Ellie. Any help is appreciated.

I'll be sure to check out that story, Maria. And I will also head over to Back To Basics to read. I've been replacing my plastic with glass as well...and for the same reason! Glass is recycled - and is better for the environment.

Nadja: I didn't mention the recycling. Good point.
