No Spring Chicken

It's my birthday. My day to par-tay!

After a little work in the back-40, I'll take the evening off and go to a decadent seafood restaurant with the handsome and gallant Greg as my escort. I'll dine on frog legs and lobster salad--my favorites.

I stay frugal all year long. This is the only day where I whoop it up and do what I want to do (without feeling guilty).

What's your favorite birthday food?

Happy Birthday!! I hope you have an awesome day.

My favorite birthday food is cheesecake. Why have regular cake when you can be decadent and have the creamy goodness that is cheesecake? =o)

BE: I love cheesecake. But Greg gets tired of it after one piece, so I have to wait until I have lots of people around to share. Thanks!

Happy birthday, Maria! Mine is coming up soon (mid-April). As for my birthday indulgence...

We have this Brazilian steakhouse here in town with a magnificent, giant salad bar and essentially all you can eat, carved to order meats. (They just bring them around to your table until you say 'no more'. And they're all fantastic! Lamb, chicken, filet--you name it.) All the sides are served family style, and include garlic mashed potatoes, polenta, fried plantains, and these wonderful hot cheese rolls.

Needless to say, my body can only stand up to one of these types of meals a year, so I try to make it my birthday meal. :)

Hope you have a great day, and the best year yet! :D

EJ: We've been to one of those Brazilian steakhouses. Oh. My. God.

I couldn't eat meat again for 3 days after that. All of it was amazing though. Talk about decadent!

Is that a party fowl?
Happy Birthday, Maria!

I don't have just one favorite birthday food. Strawberries go well with breakfast, a spinach pizza for lunch, and while I don't have a favorite dinner, chocolate for dessert is a must.

Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Maria. Happy birthday to you!

I don't have a favorite birthday food. You can keep the frog legs, though :)

I hope you have a fabulous day, my friend!
Happy Birthday. Hope the frog legs are all you hoped for. I like any food for my birthday that I don't have to prepare myself.

Adam: All my chickens are party animals. :)

Sandra: This might've been a bad question to ask. I am getting hungry thinking of the possibilities.

Strawberries and chocolate. A match made in heaven.
Maria Zannini said…
Raelyn: Thanks, hon!

Aw, frog legs are delish. Tastes like chicken, only better.
Maria Zannini said…
Susan: Oh, Amen to that, sister! I'm not fond of cooking and the less I have to do the better.

Happy Birthday!!!

My favourite birthday food would have to be white chocolate mud cake.

Happy birthday, Maria! Have a lovely day and enjoy that dinner.

Seafood and salad with something choc for dessert and a nice bottle of wine would work for me.

Enjoy this special time with your love and live it up! Woot!!

Not sure if I have a fave meal. Just love tilapia, catfish and salmon.

Happy Birthday, fave birthday food would be loaded baked potato and maybe a chocolate molten from Chili's for dessert with vanilla ice cream

Have never had frog legs or lobster salad but enjoy yours Maria!
Maria Zannini said…
Cheree: Oh, that sounds decadent. If they buried me in chocolate, I'd die happy. :)
Maria Zannini said…
Gwen: It was heavenly. I really enjoyed it.
Maria Zannini said…
Shelley: That's my perfect meal too. Although this time I opted for the cheesecake.
Maria Zannini said…
Marlene: And I'll bet you make yours from scratch. I've made only one cake from scratch. I should try it again.

Thanks for the birthday wishes.

Darke: Thanks and thanks for the tweet this morning! :)

Angela: Thank you! Believe it or not, Linda 'sang' me a song this morning too. Only hers said some unkind things about my creaky joints. LOL.

Maria Zannini said…
Jackie: This morning I was watching a segment on a chocolate show in New York. How come we never have shows like that come to our part of the country? I'd go in a heartbeat.

Thanks for the birthday wishes!

To one Birthday girl to another, Happy Birthday and may your wish come true! My B-Day is the 29th, and I'm having Lobster! I would have Frogs legs but I don't have a place that sells that. It would be nice too. I haven't had that since I was a kid. Best Wishes and many more,

Judy Peterson

It was an expensive dinner, but it was delish!

And may you have many more! Happy Birthday, Maria.

I have too many foody indulgences to have a favourite. Just now I could really go a tart and refreshing keylime pie!

Aw, man! How did I miss your birthday? That settles it! I'm never taking a day off from my laptop ever again! :) I hope you had a fantastic birthday, my friend. For me, my favorite birthday food is German Chocolate cake. *evil grins* Is that wrong? Since I missed your birthday, just make it an entire long-weekend birthday extravaganza! That way I won't have guilt!

Happy Belated Birthday!!!

I can't believe I missed your birthday, too!! That's what I get for reading (I don't think I even turned on my computer yesterday.)

Sounds like you had a wonderful day. That's good!

My favorite birthday food is birthday cake with mocha filling. Except no one in the family likes it, so I never get it. I don't need to be eating the whole cake!!
Maria Zannini said…
Mike: It was a toss up between NY cheesecake and key lime pie. I went with the cheesecake, but next time key lime! Thanks!
Maria Zannini said…
Jimmy: I could go for an all weekend birthday. With that many candles on the cake--it needs a whole weekend.

Thanks!
Maria Zannini said…
Stacy: I've been offline a lot too this week. The weather is nice and that means work outside.

Re: cake
I know what you mean! But it make it all the more special when we get that favorite dessert.

Happy Birthday. Better late than never I say. I hope you had a great day.

Lobster any day for me. :) Oh, and mud cake for dessert. :)
Maria Zannini said…
Mason: It was a wonderful birthday--even if we did work our tails off. LOL. Thanks!
Maria Zannini said…
Suzanne: One of our favorite restaurants used to hold an all you can eat lobster night once a year. I'm sure they lost money on us. Ha! Put to the test, I know I can put away a lot of lobster.

Hope you had a wonderful birthday. I bet dinner was good! I love seafood, but hubby doesn't so I don't get it often.
