Whining Isn't Pretty

This is why I love to read JA Konrath.

There is something refreshing about an author who won't wallow with the so called "artistes". You know the ones; prima donnas, dilettantes and self-strokers.

This is a short article that says the things that need to be said aloud every once in a while.

In a nutshell: Don't take yourself so seriously. And don't whine.

Trust me. There is more to life than writing. And as Konrath says, there are a lot harder things to do than writing. Keeping things in perspective is the best way to keep your sanity too.

Friday is a very special Killer Campaign post. You won't want to miss it!

So glad to hear the house survived, but bummed over your eye situation. Quite the cautionary tale for someone who is considering having the surgery.

Haven't read Konrath blog in a while - a little too much BSP since he had a book out, but I will stop by.

I read a bunch of posts over there, and it was fun. There's a lot of people who take themselves way too seriously. Since this is no doubt the only life I'm going to get, I've learned that it's not worth being so serious, or so hard on myself. I write because I love to do it. I publish my writing because I'm lucky enough to be able to, and the rest has to work itself out, I'm not stressing about it too much. My family doesn't deserve that.

JK: That's a great attitude. Good for you!

Hey Josie:
The lens replacement surgery wasn't the bad part. It's what they had to do afterwards to fix my specific problems.

Had I had normal "bad" eyes, the lens replacement surgery would have been a complete success. I just had extenuating circumstances.

Dem's da breaks.
