Fruits Of My Labor
Maybe my vegetable garden hasn't done too well this year, but the fruit trees and voluntary berry brambles have surpassed my expectations.
These are plums from my little baby plum tree.
I know it's nothing compared to what Mike Keyton harvests, but it's a start.
They taste so good too. Small, but very sweet.

Update on Bite Week
You won't believe this, but Sunday afternoon while I was deep in edits, a hornet WALKED up my shoe and stung me on the ankle. I kid you not!
After the scorpion sting, the hornet sting was 'meh', no biggie. But I was furious to get stung twice in one week. That is so unfair.
Mother Nature really has it in for me. What did I do wrong? I am safer outside than I am in my own house. Yes. The hornet stung me indoors. He didn't even buzz around. Lazy hornet!
Tell me the truth. Is this not bizarre? I don't even have a clue how he got in. He must have slipped in as we came in and out of the house.

We'll see about that. LOL.
I generally have a live and let live attitude toward critters, but they've been testing my patience this week.
I'm very pleased with the flavor. Much better than what I expected.
I hope you'll post pictures of yours when they come into season.
Be careful! I don't know who you ticked off... Are there some candles that you need to burn? Incense, maybe?

Either way, it seems I've ticked someone off.
Well the spideys, yes. I am always sticking my hands where they don't belong, but wasps and bees--hardly ever.
Ma Nature is mad at me. I better go build her an altar.
And YAY on the plums!!! I wish I could have them here, but the Japanese beetles love, Love, LOVE cherry and plum trees more than just about anything and I don't have the energy to fight them.
I'll swap you some of my peaches for your plums... *G*
I'd brag about my crabapples, but the squirrels have eaten them all. Someone pointed out that they eat the cores of the things and leave the actual fruit part to rot. #@!!
I'd hate to spray, but what are my alternatives?
Oh, now that's just not right.
We have a few squirrels here, but they are greatly outnumbered by birds.
So far the birds are leaving my fruit alone. :crosses fingers:
Good luck on your crabapples. Hope you can save a few fruit.
