Cover Art Sneak Peak

My book cover is out in a sneak peak at Facebook!

:sigh: The author is always the last to know. LOL!

Thanks to Tia Nevitt for emailing me the link.

I'm always so antsy about cover art. I think it's because I'm too close to the subject to be objective. But go over and see what you think.

I really need to join Facebook, don't I? You guys are going to drag me into the dark side, I just know it.

You're so evil.

But what if I sign up and nobody friends me? What if I sign up and the wrong people friend me?

Oh, great. Now I won't be able to sleep tonight.

Right now, I'm active on Goodreads, this blog, Absolute Write Water Cooler, Twitter, and a couple of gardening forums. I'm on MySpace but I never go there anymore. I also eavesdrop on OWW and Broad Universe.

And let's not forget those 500+ blogs I scan daily. Some of them I visit regularly.

It's a full social calendar. I try to stay active with the writing/reading blogs, but the rest, a mixture of gardening, financial, and coupon-posting blogs, I read only if something grabs my interest.

This week has been unbelievably crazy which is why I haven't been visiting as many of you as I normally do. But it's the good kind of crazy, when you know it's all going to be worth it at the end.

So tell me... How many social networks do you belong to? Do you ever feel you need to cut something out?

What one social network would you never give up?

***
Greg's shop is almost finished. It is HUGE! Poor Greg hasn't even seen it yet. I've been taking pictures as it's been going up. I'll post some photos next week. It was a pretty awesome event.

Yes, you really must join FB *evil laugh*

Here, I'll throw you a line *tosses rope* and I'll pull you in ever so gently. Come on Maria, the water is just fine. Dip your big toe in...see I wasn't lying *tugs on rope*

All kidding aside, you really should set up an author page. You can even link through Twitter though I don't know the process. If you don't use Twitter to do it, you can link your blog posts directly. You would hardly have to be there at all if you don't want to. As for friending, same things apply to any social network...check 'em out first.

Saw the cover...loved it! Can't wait to read it.

Very cool cover, Maria! *loves* :-)

I only do blogging. I won't do Facebook, so I can't see your cover.

Sherri: I'm naming you Mistress of Evil. Go ahead and change your avatar now. LOL!

Now maybe that's doable. Thanks!

Suzanne: Thanks!

Ted: I don't think you have to belong to Facebook to view pages.

Something in red with horns, Maria? LOL, hubby might like that a little too much!

I was just looking at some of the author pages on FB...most of them update via Twitter. So you'd be right at home.

I wouldn't give up Facebook. I dropped MySpace a long time ago, Twitter mystifies me. I blog (but don't count that as social networking). Facebook is by FAR my fave.

BTW, awesome cover :-)

Great cover! I'm looking forward to reading it.

I have a personal page on FB, which my sons talked me into setting up, and a writer's page, which I set up the same time as my blog (with the same tiny following). But I'm still a Twitter hold out. Just don't feel the need to Tweet.

Sherri: I think you'd look good in horns. Don't forget the pitchfork.

Marianne: Thanks!

MySpace just seems dead. The only thing I liked about it is that you could customize your page.

I'll probably follow Sherri's suggestion and just do an author page. --if I can find the instructions on how to do that.

Linda: Ah! Someone I can pester on how to make an author page. LOL.

Was it easy to set up?

I like Twitter, but I don't have a lot of time for it. I like to visit it first thing in the morning and the last thing at night, which means sometimes I miss stuff. Dems da breaks.

Gorgeous cover!

And... if you join FB, I'll be your friend! :)

Very nice cover! I like the photos and all the red. I love red!

Come on and play at facebook - it's fun and relatively quick and I have my business fan page post automatically to twitter which makes life simpler. It's where I end up posting the most now. I'll like you, I promise!

With such a schedule I imagine homesteading keeps you grounded, along with dogs and chickens. Ref which social network I wouldn't give up, I'd have to say my blog and OWWSF, because both force me to work where as all the other sites cater for my inner need for gossip - though that same gossip might be termed networking, like cyber chimps grooming - Oh, lord, what am I commiting to paper? I'm a chimp, we're all very nice chimps - don't nobody take offence now :)
Mind, Facebook in particular I find quite gossipy but perhaps a really useful networking tool

India, Stacey: Facebook candy

You're both evil, you know that, right? LOL.

I like the idea of the author page, especially if I can build one without creating a profile.

Yup, and I have the dirty fingernails to prove it. :)

Hey, networking is work. It's not my fault that I happen to enjoy it. How do you think I find out so much?

LOVE the cover, Maria.

I do a little FB, blog, and twitter. Somewhere out there (I assume) is a Myspace that I haven't visited in ages.
Twitter is fun; sort of like eavesdropping. ;)

We had work issues with FB so I can only use that in a very limited way.

Mary: Day jobs have a tendency to get in the way of social networking.

Thanks for visiting the site!

I'm on Blogger, Facebook, Goodreads, LibraryThing (although the system's been wonky & I stopped bothering to visit coupla weeks ago), LiveJournal and Twitter.

Could totally live w/o Twitter as I hardly ever Tweet, but am a wee bit reluctant to give up rights to my handle. I can't give up Facebook now for two very important reasons: 1. It's the only way to keep up/stay in touch with various family members (none of them use the damn phone anymore) and 2. I've recently become addicted the game, Café Life & need it to live. :)

I also couldn't give up Goodreads and would have a hard time leaving Blogger/LJ behind.

I'm really fond of Goodreads. It's very easy to navigate too.

Now that's scary. I barely have enough time now.

I'm on Facebook. I use to be on twitter, but it just got to be too much and since they can feed into one another, I don't need to do twitter.

I use Goodreads to list the books I'm reading.

I love the cover of your new release.
I really like my facebook acct. I can find out what everyone I know is up to. I also have a myspace I never check and a twitter account that I've never used. ^_^
