Still In The Land of Cold and Dark
Still no power, but they're almost done. We just have to wait for the power company to come in and make the final connection.
It's been a rough existence, but we've been in good spirits. Tuesday was the worst day since we couldn't even run the generator while the workmen were making installations and connections. Today, with any luck, Entergy will finish the job.
I'll try to catch up on blogs when I get back to my place. I am trying to avoid powering up the computer so the fuel will last longer for the more important appliances.

We have a ton of work to do outside (for some reason it's considerably warmer outside than in). We have spent most of our time burning brush, clearing land, and loading up the trailer for another load bound for my place.
It was a pleasant dream, though.

Cathy: You'd be surprised what you're willing to handle when you have no choice. LOL. It was cold, but not as cold as living in Alaska. :-)
Oh, I wish. I had edits that needed to be turned in, but we tried to save the generator for things like the fridge and heat.
Meghan: It was kind of funny. We kept 'trying' to turn on the light switch. We take so much for granted.

You aren't funny! LOL. I'm just glad it's over. Now for the long drive home.
RE light switch on and off, we do that when the power goes out now even if for just an hour!

Made it home. And it rained all the way. When I got home I found a water hose I had forgotten to disconnect, had blown during a freeze and there was water everywhere. I don't even want to think what the water bill will be like next month.
But I'm home. I'll inspect the rest of the place once it gets light.
Shelley: We were without power once for 3 weeks, but it was warm. For some reason, these five days were tougher--I guess because of the cold.
