You Can't Fix Clumsy

It's release week for Mistress of the Stone. But today it's strictly a blatant plea for pity. Over the weekend I hurt my knee badly (and after all the progress I made with yoga). It's so not fair.

I tripped over a tree root and landed hard on my bad leg to keep from falling. Well, you know the rest. Ice, bed rest, no work, and no yoga. At least Greg is here to do most of my chores.

The injury is bad enough that I might have to see a doc--only he recently relocated his office. I'm hoping he didn't move too far or I'll be forced to find another orthopedist. I hate having to break in a whole new doctor.

Anyway, pop in tomorrow to see where I'll be appearing. And admire my pirate dogs wherever they show up. I love showing them off!

Mistress of the Stone releases tomorrow. I'll also be in a dentist's chair tomorrow at 10am. Guess which one I'll enjoy more.

What's new? Busted anything lately? Kids off to school? --Yeah, I heard all that jubilant screaming. You're not kidding anyone.

Oh no, how awful! Hope you can track down your doctor. Speedy recovery!
And I love those pirate boys. Too cute.

I'm so sorry to hear about your injury. Ouch, it's hurting me to even picture it. I really really hope you heal quickly and the ice and rest help.

Congrats on the release, though. How exciting! And your pirates are cuties. :)

Why is something that suppose to be good for you can cause you pain?

I tripped while walking and now my back and knees are causing me some discomfort. I'm staying home to medicate it with back massager and knees up.

I hope you feel better soon.

BE: My knee thanks your knee. At least the book is nearly out, so I can concentrate on that while I'm recovering.

Cate: My doc relocated not more than week ago. How's that for timing?

Ref: pirate dogs
I'm partial to those rascals.

Sarita: Thanks! The idea of the pirate dogs came at the last minute, but as soon as I 'dressed' them up, I fell in love with the look. It so fits their personalities.

Dru: The yoga was fine. It was that sudden stop when I tripped that brought all the problems.

Sounds like you had it worse if your back hurts too. Take care, hon.

What?!? Didn't I tell you not to hurt yourself working while Greg was there? But did you listen?

Sorry you're hurting.

Linda: It was an accident. Honest. I went to feed the chickens and tripped.

Gotta stop wearing those clown shoes. :)

Ouch - I feel for you. Had my back go out on me for a whole month. I hate pain! Hopefully, the yoga exercises have made you stronger and you'll heal faster! You can hope, anyway.

Take care and enjoy your release day (even if you do have to spend some of it at the dentist).
Maria Zannini said…
Stacy: You might be right. It could've been worse if not for the yoga.

I've been doing yoga again to try and loosen up my back. If I'm making progress, it's in very small increments so far.

Sorry to hear you fell and re-injured your knee. Not fun.

Oh, and the dogs are adorable!

Maria I'm so sorry to hear about your injury! I look at it this way: you're definitely due for some good karma, so Mistress of Stone is sure to be a hit. :-)

Hoping you get better soon so you can enjoy the success.
Maria Zannini said…
LG: I think the injury would've been a lot worse had I not been doing yoga.
Maria Zannini said…
EJ: Thanks, EJ. If Karma is looking to throw some of the good stuff around, I'll be glad to take some of its hands. :)

And congrats to you on releasing BLOOD FUGUE coming out in September.

Exciting times all around.

Boo on the busted up knee!
I went out to my car a few days ago and discovered i had a flat tire. Again. Needless to say, tomorrow i'll be dropping my car off to have it repaired. Good thing i work from home
Melissa McClone said…
Oh, no! I feel so bad for you. Please take care!

No kids off yet, but next week one starts high school!

Maria Zannini said…
Sarah: Agh! Flat tires. When I lived in the city I was always getting nails in my tires. But I haven't had a single flat since I moved to the country. Hope it doesn't cost you too much.

Melissa: Oh, Lord. High school. I'll keep the wine chilled for you. :)

Not "busted" anything, bruised a few body parts that have gotten in the way when I have tried to fall down moving faster than the message from brain to feet traveled. The joys of being a "klutz" coupled with having one good leg at present are never ending!

Maria once again congratulations on book's release, boo on the knee and hope that doctor is still close enough and you caused less damage than you think. My fingers are crossed!

Love Tank and Iko in their pirate hats.

Sorry to hear about your knee. Hope you are able to get much better very fast.

Unfortunately, no jubilant joy for me regarding the kiddo heading back to school. That just means we now have homework and extracurricular activities to add to the already-tight schedule. Yeah.
Sorry about your knee. I had some minor knee surgery about two weeks ago. Still hobbling a little but will hopefully be back in gear next week.

Congrats on the release of Mistress of the Stone!

But ouch! on the knee. What were the dogs doing not to save you? Stupid dogs! We feed them, pet them, take them to the vet and what do they do in return?

Seriously, take care of yourself and I'm sending healing vibes.

O-M-G! You sounded like you were doing so well!
Certainly, I hope things heal well and heal quickly. I'm thinking that California would be a safer place for you. Sooner or later you are going to have to live closer to Hollywood anyway!?! It's a no-brainer! *grins*
Feel better, my friend, and congrats on the release.

Jackie: I tried to track down that doctor today and apparently he has disappeared. Just my luck.

You take it easy. Stay put when you can. (Learned that the hard way.)

Angela: Is she excited about school starting? Maybe some of that enthusiasm will spread. :)
Maria Zannini said…
Susan: In my book there is no such thing as minor knee surgery. :) Hope you've recovered from it.

***

Jenny: Unfortunately, the dogs were indoors in the air conditioning. They are no dumb bunnies.

***

Jimmy: I was so upset this happened. I kept trying to deny it, but it just kept getting worse and worse and I finally had to cry 'uncle'.

Ouch, I'm sorry to hear that, Maria. My father has been having trouble with bits of wood jumping put at him in the garage. Clumsy seems to be going around. :)

You've missed the paralympics this year - maybe we'll see you in Rio.

Seriously - buckets of pity - only you don't do pity - so good wishes then. Knee and book both.
Maria Zannini said…
Shelley: If clumsy were a disease, I'd be its poster child.

Mike: LOL! I'm too uncoordinated for that even on the best of days.
