April Fool's Day--Not

I'm putting this blog on vacation for at least a week. No prank. If it's Spring, it's crazy-busy around the Zannini household.

Aside from the additional chores of working outside, Book Cover Diva is really gaining steam. For the first time since my cover business officially started, I have back-to-back orders. I'm in Maria-heaven!

There's a LOT to tell about the homestead, but I'm going to wait a couple of weeks until we get our new arrivals to do a tell-all. This may be the best year yet for the homestead. Things are really starting to shape up. We might have a full-fledged farm by the end of the year. Or for sure, next year.

Did you have a good Easter holiday? I took Jimmy Garcia's advice and dedicated the whole weekend to my birthday. Yes, we worked like mules, but truth be told, that's my favorite way to celebrate.

Working in the garden is like a tonic for me. Nothing relaxes me more--not even yoga--though I think that's because I don't fall over as much.

If you could choose your favorite way to relax, what would it be? I'll see if I've got some extra fairy dust on me and sprinkle it on you so you'll get your wish.

See you around the net!

Happy belated birthday! Hope you had a wonderful time (not sure about the frogs legs though *shudder*)
My greatest escape is writing. I love to do that more than anything.

Thanks, Cate!
Re: writing
So true. It's cathartic too. I feel lighter when I write.
I did some work outside this weekend too. It felt so great to be outside. Of course, it's raining today.

Have a fun break!
My idea of relaxing is reading and I always carry a book with me!

Enjoy your break away from the net. Have fun too as well as working :)

Have a nice blogcation, Maria. I'd love to do some more gardening - just can't do a whole lot at 9200 feet except container gardening, and then dragging the containers inside, meh, not so much fun.

Susan: It's that cabin fever. Even though the temperatures are moderate here, you do get a little stir-crazy when you haven't been out in a while--at least I do.

Stacy: Thank God for iPhones. As long as that phone is charged up, I am never without reading material.

Shelley: There doesn't seem to be too much happening on the net right now, so I'll take it while there's a lull in the air.

Gwen: As much as I love your part of the country, I have to admit, the altitude would play havoc with me. Guess I would have to rely on goats as my form of relaxation. LOL. They're the only ones that wouldn't mind the Rockies.

Working outside it good. I enjoy that. But I really love writing when there is nothing else I should be doing. Hardly ever happens. Got any fairy dust for that?

Have a fun and productive week.

"Tonic" for Greg, is a little different, than Maria. After 40 years of shift work, sleeping late each morning, taking a late afternoon nap, then going to bed early each night. I don't want everyone to think I want to sleep my life away, but 2 or 3 weeks of this should catch me up nicely!

Glad you enjoyed your birthday YOUR way. That's the best way to do it :-)

Got to love reading about Book Cover Diva gaining steam because it is more than deserved :-)

Look forward to hearing more about he homestead. Hugs to the family, fur and all :-)

Linda: You suffer from Nana Guilt. Here. Let me dump a whole barrel of fairy dust on you. Now go write. :)

Greg: Poor baby. I know you're tired. I promise, when you retire, I'll let you sleep your whole first month off.
Maria Zannini said…
Angela: I'm excited about the things we're planning for the homestead. It'll get easier once Greg retires, but for now, we're doing well. If the dogs can promise us to stay healthy, I will be one happy mom.

Dru: I needed this time off. If I can just catch up a little, I won't feel so frazzled at the end of the day.

And hopefully, I'll have some interesting news when I get back.

Aww! Thanks for the shout-out. That really made my morning when I saw that I was being included today. I would offer to fly out and assist you with your yard, but I'm deathly afraid of everything that slithers, crawls, hops or goes "bump" in the night at your place. Hell, I got spooked by a meaty lizard that I found in my yard this weekend. I've been hiding beneath the bed ever since! Lol!
I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed yourself, my dear friend.

I love the beach to relax but it's been a long time since I've been. Hoping for this summer.

And I didn't know you did covers. I'll have to check that out.

Can't wait for your news.

Have a great time away!

Jimmy: Are you sure you want to come to Texas in the fall? LOL. We'll have to keep you in a nice, safe hotel room.
Maria Zannini said…
Anne: I'm not a beach person, but the most relaxing vacation we ever had was on South Padre beach. No phones, no computers. It did the trick.
Maria Zannini said…
Mike: You too! Have a good trip.
Maria Zannini said…
Misha: Thanks! I am sorely tempted to extend my blogcation to next Thursday. We'll see.

You're always crazy busy, LOL. So excited for you that Diva is taking off! It was only a matter of time, Cover Master. (Picture me bowing Jedi style.)

Happy Spring!

I just got back from spring break in the Bahamas. Having a hard time getting back to the routine now!
Maria Zannini said…
Jim: I'm paying for that relaxation now. LOL Moving on to goat shelters and water lines.
Maria Zannini said…
Raelyn: With all those boys, you're no slouch on the busy-ness scale either. I think taking care of that big a family would kill me. :)
Maria Zannini said…
Melissa: Sadly, that break has turned into more work. But it's all good in the end.

Jennifer: I had read about your Bahamas trip. I'm so jealous! A beach vacation sounds good about now.

Welcome home!
