Let Me Be Dull
There are days when I should've never gotten out of bed.
Saturday:
• Fed animals
• Cleaned house
• Lost internet
• Played catch-up on Renee Miller's launch of The Legend of Jackson Murphy
• Awarded several of my books to two winners on same launch
• Stopped to buy one little thing at a hardware store only to find every person in front of us had a major issue to resolve at the register.
• Traveled in bumper to bumper traffic to get to the airport
• Discovered the poor bastard that caused the accident had a far worse day than me. (Puts life in perspective.)
• Plane was late due to weather
• Niece (on plane) was tired and hungry
• Settled in for a nice meal
• Came home really late only to find my phone missing.
• Panicked. Called restaurant. Passed between managers for 15 minutes. They found a phone that matched my description...maybe.
• Went out to check on animals.
• Found THIS sitting on a clutch of eggs and feasting.
• Thanked heaven that Greg was home this time.
Things got better Sunday. At least I got my phone back, but I had to drive 70 miles to retrieve it. I was very lucky.
This week, if it's okay with the stars and planets, could I have a plain old dull week? I promise I won't complain.
Do you ever wish for dull days? Have you ever lost a cell phone?
I was ready to cancel my phone if the restaurant hadn't found it.

You were very lucky to get your phone back! I've never lost mine yet but I would have panicked.
One lost phone in a lifetime is enough.
We had been gone all day and I didn't have a chance to collect eggs until our return.
I'm glad Greg was there to deal with your egg thief. I think that sucker could have taken you in a fight.
Here's hoping you have the dullest of dull weeks.
{{hugs}} on your crazy Saturday. I hope you have a very, very uneventful week and enjoy your niece's visit.
As for losing a phone, knock on wood, no. Though with the new smartphone I have activated an anti-theft thing through my anti-virus program. Glad you were able to get yours back! My life is on my phone :)
I've never lost my phone, but then I don't use it like most folks. It's just a plain old flip-phone anyway. I think my husband would be HAPPY if I lost it (and I certainly won't give him any ideas).
I have lost my wallet once. That was awful. Thank goodness it was at the last place I went to - the theatre - and that it was still open (this was at Ft. Huachuca, so they only had the one theatre and only showed one movie at night). I can only imagine the kind of trouble it would have been to replace my military ID.
And yes, I know all about hurting myself trying to find that phone.
I swear I can't make this stuff up.
Snakes do have a habit of making your world interesting to say the least, hot weather and free lunches combine to make them more likely to "visit" you Maria and even rat snakes have to eat you know! LOL
I'm also on a bad day run. George was sick all day yesterday, so we finally took him to the ER vet and after ALL THE MONIES later they couldn't find anything wrong. But he's still not feeling well today, so now i have to wait and see and decide when/if to bring him in to my normal vet. Sigh
Re: ...even rat snakes have to eat...
Ha! Let them eat rats then and not my eggs. They're taking food out of my dogs' mouths.
It's awful when they get sick and the vet can't figure out why.
I did have a garden snake in the house once, though. We were moving in and left the door open for air. I saw it slither across the floor and behind a box. I instructed my daughter to go once way with a box, and I went the other way. When we moved the box it was hiding behind, it slithered out and I trapped it under another box. It was interesting sliding something under it so I could get it outside :)
I'd blame it on my location, but they seem to follow me no matter where I've lived.
Maybe I'm part Slitherin. :)
Enjoy your niece's visit :)
Egg collecting is much easier down here!
