Cheap Tricks: Dryer Lint Hack
![]() |
Lint |
Today's Cheap Trick is an oldie but a goodie. We need to start fires regularly either to burn brush or to start the fireplace for a little ambiance. Kindling is a must, but the easiest way to get that kindling going is using dryer lint. It works!
Just wrap it around a few twigs or stuff it between the gaps of your kindling. It'll do all the work for you.

Lint is unbelievably flammable. I'm showing this post to everyone in the family who teases me about the way I religiously clean out the lint trap, and refuse to leave the dryer running when we go out. I used to work with firemen, but do they listen to me? Nope.
re: lint
My kid sister is horrible about letting her lint trap collect. Honestly, I don't know how she's never had a fire. Every time my mother visits her she makes sure the trap is cleaned out.
