Final Knee Update
Last week, I went for my 6 week evaluation. I still have a bit of an ache that for some reason travels to a different spot every two to three days. Some days it's on my knee, other times my hip, or my calves. I have to assume it's to do with whatever activity I was doing. My surgeon took before and after X-rays, and my post op knee picture was absolutely text book. Even I thought it was perfect.
What's more, after checking my range of motion, at only six weeks in, he said I could forego physical therapy. Walking regularly will be more than enough to get the leg back to pain-free function.
I was shocked, and happy. And I don't think I ever saw a surgeon more pleased with himself.
To be fair, I was tough with myself. I exercised that leg every day whether I was at PT or not. I also pushed myself to do more whenever I could. I am very motivated to get back to my old self.
My only regret is that I still tire out quickly. Hopefully regularly walking will help restore my stamina.
I'm taking things slowly. When I cook, Greg helps. He also helps with cleaning so it's not all on me like before. I tried doing a little weeding in the garden, but I tired out after half an hour. The heat and humidity probably exacerbated my low tolerance outside.
On to the other more recent great event down here.
Last week, we had some horrific storms move through and we were on constant tornado warnings. Neighbors had whole trees uprooted. Huge chunks of tree snapped off our giants. Many, many people lost fences, brick walls, and roofs.
We lost power for a little while, but as usual, our internet was down for DAYS. Our provider doesn't even bother apologizing anymore.
As I write this, days later, it's still raining. I've never known such a wet spring. Usually this weather is done by April. Good for plants, though. And good for my water bill.
Check this out. This was at DFW Airport. The winds were so strong it shoved a jet liner like a tinker toy.
How's the weather by you?

I never want to fly out of DFW again...
In other news, I'm so glad you're doing so well. When I end up with my knee replacement, I hope I do half as well. Good job!!
We are definitely having unusual weather. It never rains this much.
Even now it's raining!!! I feel bad for the dogs.
That's the hard part. :)
